Clough Consultants and Speech Therapy, INC. is privately owned and operated. The primary purpose of Clough Consultants and Speech Therapy, INC. is to develop functional, achievable and creative services in speech-language pathology and consulting on the basis of individuality and overall improvement in quality of life.

Therapy will focus on the individual’s and caregivers needs to improve deficits of concern through intervention and education from a certified speech-language pathologist. Services provided through insurance must meet specific criteria prior to evaluation to include a physician’s order, form of identification, medical history and insurance provider information. Services provided through private pay will be billed prior to treatment sessions based on the needs of the individual and medical history.

Consultation will focus on dementia education provided to professionals and caregivers, the development of dementia programs for professionals, healthcare facilities and/or caregivers. Consultation can be individualized based on needs of the facility, professional development and caregiver education. Dementia program development can be a billed as therapy in the home setting when staging an individual and developing goals achievable to that individual diagnosed with dementia.

anne-cloughAnne Clough MA CCC/SLP is the founder and speech-language pathologist of Clough Consultants and Speech Therapy, INC. Anne first started her career with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism and then to adults and geriatrics with speech, cognitive, voice and swallowing deficits.

Experience in applied behavioral analysis (ABA) while working for the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism. Knowledgeable to dementia staging, development of dementia functional maintenance plans and dementia programming for skilled nursing facilities and caregivers. VitalStim® certified with therapy for dysphagia (swallowing deficits), oral motor function and vocal fold paralysis.

Previous role as therapy director with knowledge and experience in billing, documentation, management and insurance. Certification with the American-Speech-Hearing-Language Association and licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Ohio and South Carolina.

DYSPHAGIA THERAPY

Services provided in the area of dysphagia (swallowing disorder) to include:

  • Oral dysphagia
  • Oropharyngeal dysphagia
  • Pharyngeal dysphagia
  • Vital-stim certified in adults with dysphagia coupled with dysphagia exercises to increase airway protection and swallow function
  • Feeding to increase nutritional intake and sensory integration

VOICE THERAPY

    Services provided in voice therapy to include:
  • Aphonic Speech (difficulty with proper breath support for
    speech production)
  • Vocal Fold Paralysis
  • Voice following tracheostomy
  • Memory- immediate, delayed, short term and long term recall
  • Vital-stim coupled with voice exercises for individuals with
    vocal fold paralysis to increase vocal fold function

CONSULTATION

DEMENTIA CONSULTATION

Services provided for consultation in dementia education, program development and professional training:

  • Education in dementia provided to caregiver’s on type of dementia, current stages, characteristics in current stage, use strategies for successful interaction and activities to increase cognition and memory.
  • Develop a dementia program for skilled nursing facilities to be incorporated into practice with the interdisciplinary team for successful use by improving overall quality of life for individuals diagnosed with dementia.
  • Professional training provided to speech-language pathologist’s on how to evaluate individuals diagnosed with dementia through standardized tests, document goals that are appropriate based on level of dementia, stage current level of dementia, develop a functional maintenance plan and how to carryover strategies and cognitive activities for staff or caregivers.
  • Education in dementia provided to healthcare facilities for staff on how to interact successfully with individuals with dementia and strategies to use to decrease behaviors such as wandering, aggression and falls related to late stages of dementia.
